How to Backup your Gmail Emails Fastest


Backing up emails is very important in case you forgot, lose your Gmail password or  you haven’t connect to the internet to view, print email as needed. The guide below will help you backup Gmail fastest.

Simple Steps to Backup Gmail Messages

Step 1: Log in to your account, then click on Download your data.

Now your computer screen will display the different Google products you are using.

Use the scroll bar to scroll down the products you want to back up. If you intend to delete your Gmail account, I suggest you download the data from Contacts and Mail.

Step 2: Select the data you want to back up and download. Now you choose Contacts and Gmail.

By default, download is turned on for all products. Please turn off the product you do not need to load, as the image above.

Now, click the Next button when you have selected the product you want to download.

Step 3: Select the archive file format, size and download method.

File type: Choose your archive’s file type you want to download. You should select the .zip file type, because Zip files can be opened on almost any computer.

Archive size (max): Sizes range from 1 GB to 50 GB. Your archives file larger than this size will be split into multiple files.

Delivery method: There are 4 methods of downloading files

  • Send download link via email: After we finish creating your archive, they’ll email a link so you can download it to your personal device. You will have one week to retrieve your archive.
  • Add to Drive: They will add your archive to Drive and email you a link to its location.
  • Add to Dropbox: They will upload it to Dropbox and email you a link to its location.
  • Add to OneDrive: Similar to Add to Dropbox

Then click Create archive to continue.

Step 4: Manage your archives or create another archive

If you want to create another archive, select Create Another archive. If all goes well, select Manage archives to go to the next step like image below.

When you’re ready, click the DONE button to complete.

How to download your data archive to your computer

Step 1: Access to your Gmail inbox.

Since I choose Send download link via email option , open your Gmail inbox.

Click on the email to open it.

Step 2: Click the Download archive button.

You will have to sign in to your Gmail account again. Before downloading the archive file to your computer, select where to save the file by clicking the Save as button and the data will be saved to your computer.
